September/October 2010

On Sept. 13th Vick went into a treatment program at the Houston VA hospital to get off pain medication. He has struggled with it for the past year and finally decided to do something about it. It was tough to be here in SLC while he was down in Houston going through that alone. It was for the best though. He sounds so good on the phone and in a better mood. He does struggle with sleep but hopefully it will get better once we are back together. On Oct. 4th he had surgery to get some hernia's fixed. He has been in quite a bit of pain since but each day gets better. I miss him like crazy! He has decided to drive up here at the first of November. He is sick of being away from me and vice versa. We will go down later on in to get the rest of our stuff. :)

This month has been quite a ride and it's only half way done. I finally got a job offer from Zion's and started on Oct. 12th. I am in what is called a Peaktime position. I basically go around to what branch needs me that day. I have days where I am just a teller and days when I sit at the desk and open new accounts or maintenance. My first week went really well.

On Oct. 12th, the same day I started working, my dad took Bob into the vet. He was having problems with anger issues towards dogs, cats, and children. Over the past year he has just grown more and more depressed. He was medicated to calm him down but he was still tough handle. He was under constant watch from everyone in the house due to his aggression towards the cats. If he wasn't in his kennel he was stuck in our room, he couldn't run free like he used to. He even attacked Bree. My dad sat down with the vet for an hour going over all the options when it came to training him. The vet said that with his age and already being medicated there wasn't a whole lot we could do for him. He was put down. It was a sad sad day, but I know that he is running free now. I will miss him forever and can't wait for the day I'll get to see him again. I love you Bob.
