What a week...

So I went with Vick to the VA on Thursday to see his doctor about his swelling legs...he wanted another round of tests. It turns out his liver is enlarged and so his body is taking on fluid, hence the swelling. I feel so bad for him, he is hurting. They took him off pretty much all his medication and put him on some "water pills" so that the swelling can start going down. I don't think it is working. We go in again on Tuesday and if the swelling is not gone, or he is worse, than they will have to admit him until they figure out why his liver is having problems.

I just hope he will get better soon. He is not a happy camper. Other than that I just worked and made some flowers in my cake class. I will post the results of this course next week when we are done. It is our last class of Course three and we will start another class in June! A month off will be good.

Bekah will be here in a couple of weeks!!! She is staying for a month and I am so excited to see her. We are going to Tennessee the weekend after she gets here to see our step-brother graduate from High School. I've never been to Tennessee before, or the states we will be going through to get there,so I'm going to take lots of pictures!

Well, I'm going to head to the kitchen to make me something to eat and get Vick up. We are going to go see Oceans at the IMAX theater!!! It's going to be amazing.

April 20, 2010

So it's been a while since I last posted and it's because it's has been pretty busy!Vick came home on April 8th from the VA and he was very happy to be back. Adjusting wasn't easy though, he had nightmares the first couple of days.

That following weekend we met up with some friends of ours to watch UFC...like I said before, not quite sure what is exciting about that. Then Sunday we played Volleyball with them and it was fun! I think I sprained my toe though because it still hurts but it never bruised or got swollen. Definitely not a fun thing though. Then Vick woke up with swollen feet and for the past week I have been trying to convince him to let me take him to the E.R.

Sunday April 18, 2010 I took him in. We went in at 5:30 pm and got home around 11:30 pm. They don't know what is wrong with him, just that he is swollen from his feet up to his knees. They took x-rays, ekgs, and blood work and everything came back normal. All they can do is give him a pill to help him pee out all the swelling, and refer him to a cardiologist. Yes, a cardiologist.

Other than that the week has been pretty normal. Just work and shows...oh and our cake class of course! Which I will be posting pictures of my first cake with fondant. It is so cute and everyone at work thought it was so cute! I'm very proud.

April 11, 2010

So this past week hasn't really been too exciting.

Vick came home from the VA on Thursday and we just hung out at home and then went to Chile's with the family for dinner. Vick had to readjust to life here at home and that was a bit new to me. He is a lot calmer and thoughtful. :)

Friday we planned on going to see a movie but because Vick had a hard time sleeping, which ment I got up everytime he did, once I got home I fell asleep. We decided to catch up on our shows from the past few weeks!

Saturday I went and got a massage with my mom and then we went to lunch. That night Vick and I met up with Baldemar and Christina, along with some of their friends, and watched UFC at Wild Wings Cafe. It was fun hanging out but the fights were pretty boring. I just don't get the excitement of UFC, it's just a bunch of guys hugging and punching.

Today Vick and I went to Wal-mart and went grocery shopping for the week. It was nice to have that time with him because it felt like we were living on our own again. It was nice. The past weeks have been tough and we really want to get out on our own but with the little money I have coming in from my job it is difficult to see us able to be on our own. We are going to start pressuring the VA to get his claim looked at so that they can make a decision. This waiting game is starting to take quite a toll on us.

On a lighter note...Army Wives returns tonight! I'm going to go watch New Moon for the first time since I bought it, while Vick takes a nap :) Then I am going to finish "The Forgotten Garden" so that I can start the last book in the series of "Fablehaven!" Now that is going to be exciting!

Easter Weekend 2010

So my Easter weekend was actually pretty busy without Vick. Friday night we went out to Double Dave's pizza, and it was pretty tasty!

Then on Saturday we went to the outlet mall and got some ideas. :) After we hit up that, my mom and I went to Michael's to sign up, and get our kits, to start our next cake decorating class that starts on Wed.! I'm so excited for that because we are moving on to gum paste and fondant. Cake Boss here we come...haha, just kidding! I'm not that good but it's fun and brings out my more creative side...Here is my finished course two cake!

After I found some nice slacks and a shirt I headed over to meet Christina so that we could go see her fiance Baldemar get baptized into the Catholic church. Now that was an experience for me, especially since I've only known the LDS church. I thought that the sermons weren't too bad but the standing up and sitting every two minutes got to be pretty exhausting. By the last hour I had already given up on standing, and I definitely wasn't going to do the sit, stand, kneel. We got there around 8:30 pm and didn't get done until midnight, which is when Easter mass would normally begin. After that we went to Denny's and had breakfast at two in the morning! It brought back so many memories for me from going dancing and then to Denny's with the girls afterwards!

Sunday was pretty chilled. I put together Vick's Easter Basket...

and headed down to the VA to visit him! We drove down to the Galleria mall, which is one of the largest malls in the U.S., and it was closed. We even found a Target that was closed...Target in STG doesn't even close on Easter...I know weird! Then we went back to the VA and talked. It was nice, but he is so ready to get out of there and I am so ready for him to be home!

When I got home my uncle called me to see if I wanted to go see a movie with him, and we went to Clash of the Titans. I liked it...I didn't love it but liked it. It was a lot simpler than I thought it was going to be, but the actions and graphics were pretty cool. Sam Worthington is definitely becoming one of my favorites!

So that concludes my Easter 2010 :)

Spoke too soon

So as I was leaving work today my manager told me she put in her two weeks notice. She also told me she suggested I take her place. I've only been with the company for two weeks, I'm still in learning mode. I'm not even sure if I want to stay here.

It's going to be a tough decision to make because Vick and I have been so set on moving back to Utah. I wish Vick were here with me so that we can talk about what to do. Do I take it and stay here, or do I let them know I'm only staying until June?
Then we have to factor in the fact that Vick's VA claim hasn't come through yet, and we don't know when it will which makes it more complicated. If I decide to stay and his claim goes through, which will help determine what additional money we will be getting every month, do I stay or leave. I was content with knowing this job wouldn't last long and we would have the freedom to make the decision on when to move, but now this.

I guess I still have one to two weeks before I find out if they are truely going to ask me to stay permanently...until then I will have to roll it over in my head and wait to talk to Vick on Sunday.

Decisions Decisions....

Work Work Work

So I started this temporary job a couple weeks ago thinking I would have lots of things to do and learn. Well, I have spent more time sitting there this week than I have working.

Then today I finally got set up on a program that can help a completely different department. I'm so excited about that because it means I'll actually get paid for working. It almost seems more exhausting sitting there twiddling my thumbs than if I were actually working, and don't mention the speed of the day goes faster.

I guess I really shouldn't complain because I get paid every friday and it's more than what I was making at the bank, which I hated more than anything. Plus, it's only two months and then I can choose to move on if it stays busy...

Wow, this Law and Order CI is really good...
